The founding of the Carmel winery dates back to the year 1882 when Baron Edmond de Rothschild, who used great financial engagement and with the help of delegating french wine experts, reinvagorated the historical viniculture in the Holy Land. This is the reason for French grape varieties riping under almost ideal soil conditions in the sunny, nearly rainless climate of Israel, providing their fullness and harmony to the wines. Here, beneficial cultivation conditions are united with most modern cellar techniques. Only kosher wines are produced, which is also documented by the traditional kosher sign labeled on the back.

About 800 winegrowers out of all Israeli wine regions are united in the Societé Cooperative Vigneronne of the Grandes Caves, that was established in 1906. Accordingly the choice of selected harmonious wines is extremely diverse.

The oldest vintage available will be delivered (doesn't have to match the pictures). We'll be glad to let you know about the vintages available if not indicated! If you would like to order specific vintages, please request those via telephone, fax or email!
