The Yarden Syrah Yonatan has a wide range of flavors including blackberry jam, fresh herbs and ripe black and red fruits; all rounded off by traces of spice, earth and oak. The intense taste of the wine complements its full-bodiedness. Yarden Syrah Yonatan Vineyard is already a pleasure, but it only reaches its full potential after a few years in the bottle. If stored well, the wine should be very drinkable for more than a decade (from bottling).
Syrah tends to have a somewhat “wild” character, so it should be paired with food that has a somewhat exotic flavor of its own. Try a dry marinade made with mustard powder, crushed coriander seeds, cumin, and crushed red chili; Add some coarse salt and fresh black pepper. Rub a lamb shoulder with it and then let it rest in the fridge for 24 hours, then bring it to room temperature and fry the meat. Serve with gravy and Yarden Syrah Yonatan Vineyard.
