This full-bodied wine has a deep dark purple color. The wine shows notes of wild berries, blueberries, plum jam, créme de cassis and nuances of nutmeg and chocolate.
The wine is dense and balanced with a silky texture and a long, soft finish. The wine was on the mash for 14-21 days at 30°C with 100% malolactic fermentation and then matured in French oak barrels for 16 months. A warm winter and a rainy spring with low temperatures resulted in an average amount of precipitation and thus late budding and flowering.
Spring and the beginning of summer were characterized by pleasant weather with below-average temperatures, which resulted in a long ripening of the grapes and a later harvest.
Alcohol 15% Acid 6.2 g / L pH 3.59 Best served at 18ºC, it is an excellent complement to richly seasoned meat dishes such as oven-roasted leg of lamb, seared sirloin steak or even aged, flavorful cheeses.
The wine is ready to drink and will continue to develop over the next 5-7 years if stored properly.
